About Power Brokers
Each year, CoStar tallies the commercial real estate sales and lease transactions that closed during the previous year to determine the winners of the prestigious CoStar Power Broker Awards, presented to those who closed the highest transaction volume in commercial property sales and leases in their respective market.
Now in its twelfth year, the CoStar Power Broker Program continues to honor the top broker firms and individuals in commercial real estate. Winners of these prestigious awards are determined based on transaction data in CoStar’s commercial real estate database, the most comprehensive source of commercial real estate information available.
Methodology
Every day, CoStar’s 900+ researchers find and verify information on commercial real estate sales, leases and listings. At the end of each year, CoStar tallies the commercial real estate sales and lease transactions that closed during the previous year to determine the winners of the CoStar Power Broker Awards in each market. These awards are presented to both the firms and individuals who closed the highest transaction volume in commercial property sales and leases in their respective market throughout the year.

2012 Power Broker Awards were determined based on all 2012 deals received on or before February 1, 2013.
The Current Leaders for each market will be determined based on year-to-date lease and sales transactions that have been submitted and entered into the CoStar database as of the update deadline.
All Power Broker Awards will be determined based on deals completed during the previous calendar year that were received on or before the entry deadline.
